This evidence photo 048, taken at Little Bitterroot lake in Montana, is dated September 17, 1982. During the Cessna C150 aircraft recovery, this photo shows the inside of the cockpit with the back panel of the storage compartment removed. Notice that the exposed interior of the fuselage was also a convenient place for us to store our unopened raft and one of the double-sealed green garbage bags that contained all of our belongings.

So, why did Dianne and I remove the back panel of the storage compartment in the first place?

Another crucial question that none of the Flathead County authorities commented on or ever asked about despite Detective Jim Dupont logging the contents of the bag in his Investigative Report Follow-up after the aircraft recovery.
