Investigative Report - Original - Attachment C - Follow-up report of Deputy Jim Dupont dated 9-21-1982
Flathead County Sheriff's Office, Kalispell, Montana
State (Criminal) Evidence/Documents - 1982 and 2006 files

Sep 21, 1982 {ID: 3103} {Class: State (Criminal) | Sub-Class: Other}

This Follow-Up Investigative Report by Detective Jim Dupont is dated September 21, 1982. The hand-written 12-page report contains a daily log of the continued investigation by the Flathead County Sheriff's Office into the plane crash. Among the report contents are:

• the details of the aircraft being raised from the bottom of Little Bitterroot Lake
• the aircraft's instrument panel readings at the point they stopped working, and
• the inventory of the aircraft contents, including:

1) an unopened yellow 2-man 'Drifter' life raft, and
2) a double-sealed waterproof green garbage bag that contained clothes, disguises, and various perishable items Dianne and I gathered for our journey

NOTE: For more information see 'More Related Details/Facts' below...

MORE RELATED DETAILS / FACTS

Inventory list of the contents from the aircraft (Page: 9 and 10): When the aircraft was lifted out of the water, the Flathead County authorities found one of the garbage bags lodged in the back of the aircraft fuselage and inventoried its contents (See document page 9 and 10 above for the following hand-written itemized list by Detective Jim Dupont himself):

1. Blue Windbreaker
2. Red Towel
3. Orange Towel
4. 1 Liter Orange Juice
5. 1 Liter Chocolate Milk
6. 2 Fruit Yogurt
7. 2 Sandwiches
8. 4 Peaches
9. 2 Tomatoes
10. 1 Roll Toilet Paper

11. One Blue Backpack with following items:
A. 1 Green Sweater
B. 1 Pair Levi's
C. Toni Perm Kit & Curlers
D. 1 Nice & Easy Hair Dye
E. 1 White & Red Pullover Shirt
F. 1 White Blouse
G. 1 Blue & White Pullover Shirt
H. 1 Sweat Shirt Gray
I. 1 Pair Blue Cords
J. 2 Pairs Panties
K. 1 Pair Green Socks
L. 1 Pair White Socks

So the question is: why would 2 high-school kids flying from Vancouver to Penticton B.C. for 1 day have a raft and a sealed garbage bag that contained items like:
1 roll toilet paper
1 Woman's Toni Perm Kit and Curlers, and
1 Woman's Nice & Easy Hair Dye
in the back of their aircraft?

For 24 years Sheriff Dupont was quite outspoken about his interpretation of the plane crash and the accident, but for some inexplicable reason he never mentioned things like the raft and the garbage bag contents to the media?

Now why do you suppose that was?

Read the book, look at all the evidence, and you will see a very different story narrative than what Sheriff Dupont and eventually prosecutor Ed Corrigan tried to publicly portray in the years that followed.

Food for Two....
2 sandwiches... 2 fruit yogurts.... and her very minimal wardrobe. Really shows her care and consideration.

Yes, and all the inventory from the bag on Page 9 and 10, including 2 pair of panties, sweaters, blouses, shirts, socks, etc. That is not for a one day afternoon picnic. Lots of planning and considerations ... :)
